Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane makes ‘Gareth Bale decision’ ahead of Liverpool clash

GARETH BALE has been told by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane he will not start in the Champions League final against Liverpool.

The two European giants meet in the showpiece game on Saturday, May 26 in Kiev.

Bale has not been first-choice at Real this season and has suffered a number of injury problems.

The Wales international is expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer with Manchester United and Tottenham reportedly interested.

Spanish outlet Don Balon, known for their outlandish claims, say Bale has been told by Real he will not start against Liverpool.

In fact the reports even suggest the 28-year-old may be left out of the matchday squad by Zidane.

Real are looking to make Champions League history by winning the competition for a third straight season.

Bale has made 16 goals and provided eight assists for his team-mates this campaign.

But it doesn’t appear to be enough to save the Welshman’s Real Madrid career.

The winger has three Champions League wins as we as a La Liga title on his list of achievements.

Real will look to overhaul their squad this summer after failing to keep up with the pace set by Barcelona in the Spanish top flight.

Zidane’s side trail the Catalan club by a huge 18 points with just two matches left to play.

That has seen Barcelona crowned La Liga winners once again.
